CAIT AROUND THE WORLD

May 10, 2023 — I had a very laid-back day today, though it started in much the same way as the rest of the others did on Nusa Lembongan. Free breakfast from the hostel in the morning after waking up from a lovely night’s sleep. (The beds at this place were stupid comfortable.)

I decided to spend the rest of the morning a little differently than the others. I changed into my swimsuit and laid by the pool with some YouTube videos for a very long time. So long, in fact, that it was well past lunch by the time I went looking for other food.

I decided to sit down at Cookies and Coffee, a little cafe on the way to Dream Beach. I had a delicious smoothie and I also finally tried chicken rendang, a traditional Indonesian dish that I had yet to have.

After eating “lunch,” I continued on a longer walk and went in search of sunglasses because the screw holding the arm against the lens on my pair is coming loose and I’m not sure when it’s going to break. I thought that sunglasses might be more reasonably priced here in Indonesia, so I searched for a store that sold them. I made it all the way to the other side of Nusa Lembongan, to Mushroom Beach, before I found a store that sold them. Unfortunately, they were $20 and mine are still intact so I decided to wait.

On the way back from Mushroom Beach, I walked by the massage place across from where I ate lunch the previous day. I was tempted once more to stop and this time I gave in! I got a back, shoulder, and neck massage and it was so nice.

After, I headed back to the hostel to cool off in the pool again. Then I put my comfies on and had some air conditioning time.

Finally, I headed out again for dinner. I ate at Seafood Sports Bar and talked to Mom and Dad and my brother, Ryan.

I headed back to the hostel after paying the bill and went to bed.
