CAIT AROUND THE WORLD

March 30, 2023 — I woke up in the morning and gathered my stuff so that I could check out of the room by ten a.m. Luckily it wasn’t too difficult since I hadn’t had much chance to get unpacked at all!

Once I’d checked out, I sat with my stuff at one of the covered picnic tables near the kitchen area and called my friend, Zoë, at home. We’re supposed to spend two weeks in Italy this fall, and since I’d decided while I was in Noosa to head home at the end of September, we were discussing and firming up our dates for the trip and working on the itinerary. We had a really nice talk and got some details sorted out.

After that, I spent pretty much the rest of the day watching Modern Family. It also rained most the day, so it wasn’t the nicest day to go anywhere in town, although if I returned to Rainbow Beach, it looked like a cute place to explore for a couple days based on the look I got of it when we got gas the night before.

I ate a couple peanut butter and jam sandwiches and a pack of instant noodles throughout the day, then headed to the bus stop at 6:55pm and the bus left the station at 7:15pm. Yes, the day was here: I was on another overnight bus, this time to to Airlie Beach.
