Hi there! My name is Caitlyn, I’m a 22-year old recent university graduate from Ontario, Canada, and I’m currently taking a gap year before getting into the working world. In that time, I’m going travelling!! (Cue the fireworks!)
My trip is affectionately being referred to as Cait’s Grand Tour 2023, as I’m going to be travelling from Canada, to Australia, and across Europe over the course of about 7 months (the timeline isn’t firm yet, though!).
With this blog, I’m hoping to document the process that it takes to get from Canada to Australia then to Europe – the planning, the preparation, and the journey itself – so that I have a record of everything I did and all the lessons I learned. Hopefully it can help you, too!
A little more background about me…
I’ve travelled my whole life. My parents are big into travel and I’ve been on countless road trips and flown for tropical vacations. I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Europe not once, but twice with my high school and EF Tours. These trips are a large part of what drives me to go for further, longer travels today. I love seeing new places that I’ve previously only heard of in books or seen on TV.
With this trip, I aim for growth. Gathering a deeper knowledge of myself, the world around me, and the people who live here. Becoming more confident, more independent, and better able to tackle the years ahead.
Until next time, safe travels!
